A drawing objection is a formal problem with a fixed deadline.
Patent offices object to drawings that break their formal rules or that do not match the description and claims: lines that will not reproduce, numerals that are missing or unexplained, text inside figures, shading in the wrong style, or claimed features that are not shown. The application cannot proceed until the drawings are corrected.
Corrections must stay strictly within what was originally filed. Adding anything new, even a clearer detail, can be refused as new matter. We fix each point, check the result against the specification, and prepare replacement sheets in the format the office expects.

03Can I add details when correcting drawings?
No. Corrections must stay within what was originally disclosed. Adding new features or details can be refused as new matter, so we correct only what the objection requires.
04Do you need the original drawing files?
No. We can redraw from the filed PDF. Source files help but are not required.
05How do I file the corrected drawings?
They are filed with the response to the office action, usually as replacement sheets. Your attorney files them, or we work with your prosecution team.
06How quickly can you correct drawings?
